(12 Thursdays – 7-10 PM) – UCLA Extension – “Calligraphy: The Art of Lettering”
This course is designed to inspire the creative spirit through expressive mark-making. Students will learn techniques to convey emotions such as excitement, serenity and joy in their lettering. Instruction will provide a series of exercises to create beautiful, playful and expressive marks and hand lettering using a variety of media such as watercolor, acrylics, inks, metallic powder and metal leaf, and a multitude of innovative tools. Students will come away with confidence and new skills to produce artistic marks, backgrounds and creative lettering.
